Storytelling Under the Stars at Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum State Historic Site  – Saturday, April 13, 6-9 PM
Interested in learning more about the night sky? Come learn with the library and other local organizations at the this Star Party, sponsored by the NC Science Festival.  Before the sun goes down, enjoy kid-friendly games and activities. After dark, listen to storytelling and observe the night sky through binoculars and telescopes. Learn about the important role that science played at this elite boarding school and enjoy the peacefulness of the 40 acre campus and State Historic Site. This event will feature storytelling from James Shields of Guilford College and the Gibsonville Public Library and will be joined by Tony Crider, Professor of Physics at Elon University and Don Smith, Associate Professor of Physics at Guilford College.

Staying local this spring break? Take advantage of this great service opportunity for students ages 12-18. Help plan and lead an Escape Room Challenge at the Gibsonville Public Library during spring break! We’ll meet 12pm – 2pm Monday, April 22nd through Friday, April 26th to plan out the escape room. Then, we will open the Escape Room Challenge to the public from 2pm – 5pm on Friday afternoon. Lunch will be provided during 12pm meetings Monday – Friday, and students can use this experience toward service hours required for school, clubs, or other organizations.  Learn more and sign up online at www.giblib.org/escape.

FREE computer classes continue in April at Gibsonville Community Center
The library is organizing a series of computer classes that will be offered for FREE at the Gibsonville Community Center. These classes will be held on the first and third Tuesday of each month (spring session runs from March – May) from 2:00 – 3:30 PM. We want to make sure that these classes are meeting your needs, so we’re asking for feedback and suggestions on class topics before we get started. Let us know below what you’d like to learn so we can shape these events around you. Go to giblib.org/computer
