***The library will be taking a break from regularly scheduled programming in August. Storytimes, Homeschool events, and After School STEAM activities will resume in September***
Knitting/Crochet Club
Like to knit/crochet? Want to learn? Come join the Knitting/Crochet club to get advice and share ideas with others who love knitting/crochet as much as you do! Open to all ages and skill levels. Supplies are available for anyone who doesn’t have their own. The Knitting Club will meet on the first Saturday every month (starting Saturday August 6th) at 10:00 am, and the third Tuesday of every month at 5:30 pm.
GibLib Book Bike
Our Book Bike will be out and about for as long as the weather will allow! We would love to involve volunteers who are looking for an active, outdoor way to add a little community service to their life. If you are interested in helping out with Book Bike events (ages 18 & over, for now), if you would like the Book Bike to stop in your neighborhood, or to see already scheduled stops visit giblib.org/bike.
Turn in those Summer Reading Logs!
Don’t forget to turn in your completed Summer Reading Log by July 31st! Even though our scheduled Summer Reading activities end July 23, you can still turn in your paper copy of your Reading Log at the library, or go to giblib.org/summer to log your minutes online!
School Supplies
The library is teaming up with Gibsonville United Methodist Church to collect and distribute school supplies to those in need in our community. You can drop off new, unused school supplies at the library anytime during the month of August. Supplies will be available every Saturday from August 13 – September 3 from 10:00am-2:00pm at the library.
History of Gold Mining in Gibsonville
Did you know there used to be a gold mine in Gibsonville? On Wednesday August 17 at 11:00am The Gibsonville Museum and Historical Society will be on hand at the library to share the history of mining in our area.
