“Día del Idioma”

Every year on April 23rd, Spanish Language Day celebrates the second most spoken language in the world. It is a day to honor authors, especially the most revered writer in the Spanish language, Miguel De Cervantes Saavedra.

This year at the Gibsonville Library, we are celebrating with a pop-up gallery display of spanish-language books, information about influential authors, and work from Thania Orellana whose paintings and stories bring a piece of her homeland, Honduras, to Gibsonville!

Gallery dates: April 23rd-30th

Educators: Call the library at 336-449-6455 to arrange a tour and story session with Miss Thania.

This program is made possible by funding from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMLS grant number LS-246155-OLS-20).
