Gathering a Community History
The Gibsonville Public Library, in partnership with the Gibsonville Museum and Historical Society and a number of local churches, is facilitating a research project focused on the history of the Black community in the Gibsonville area.  This project is supported by a grant from the State Library made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
On Saturday, February 17th at 1:00pm at Gibsonville Town Hall, researcher John Cooper will present some of the stories and images that he has collected in the community so far.  The public is invited to attend and share their own stories.  Those that are interested in participating in an interview, or in sharing photos or other materials for digitization, will have the opportunity to provide their contact information so that Mr. Cooper can schedule up a future session with them.  Contact jcooper@giblib.org for more information.
