Saturday Movie Matinee | Saturday, November 9 at 12:30 PM
The library offers FREE Saturday Movie Matinees each month, and this month’s film is The Art of Racing in the Rain.  This is the story of Enzo, who was born to be a race car driver. There’s just one problem: He’s a golden retriever. He can still watch, though. Through Enzo’s eyes, we learn about the life of his owner, race car driver Denny Swift. It is based on the book by Garth Stein.  Want to read the book first?  Find it at the library!
Matinees will be held regularly on the second Saturday of each month going forward! We plan to alternate between newly released child/family-friendly movies and recent movies based on popular books. See what’s showing next at giblib.org/movies

School-age Activities

Afterschool S.T.E.A.M. Activities | Thursdays at 4:00 PM
Join us for a fun STEAM (that’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) activity each Thursday afternoon at 4:00 PM during the school year. These activities are intended for elementary and middle school students. We’re getting ready for Thanksgiving this month with vegetable canoes, turkey traps, and pumpkin seed art.

Homeschool Activities | Every third Friday at 10:00 AM
Homeschool families are invited to join us every third Friday at 10:00 AM for STEAM activities and the chance to meet other area homeschoolers. Activities will mirror afterschool themes each month. Next activity is Friday, November 15 at 10:00 am.

Ani-Makers – for Middle and High School students | Every third Saturday, 1:00 PM
Calling all anime fans, creative types, makers and friends! We want to start a group just for you. Each month, we’ll get together to watch a fun animated thing and create a fun thing, too. This is your group – so we want you to help shape our activities to reflect your own interests. Have a great craft idea? Share it! Have a new favorite show? Share that too! Bring your friends and make some new friends. Next Meeting Saturday, November 16 at 1:00 PM
