Tuesday Morning Storytimes   10:00 AM
Children birth – age 5 are invited (along with their caregivers) to visit the library for story time! Share songs, stories, and activities with Miss Ashley. Storytimes will be held in the library’s community room, so space is limited. No registration is required for Tuesday morning storytimes – walk-ins and first-time visitors are welcome.

STEAM activities   Tuesdays at 4:00 PM      giblib.org/steam
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities are back, just a little different.  Activities for children in Kindergarten – 2nd grade will be on the first and third Tuesday of each month.   Activities for children in 3rd – 5th grade will be on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.  If there is a fifth Tuesday in a month, we will have an all-ages activity. This month:
K-2  Tuesday September 5th and Tuesday September 19th at 4:00pm
3-5  Tuesday September 12th and Tuesday September 26th at 4:00pm

Homeschool Activities   Wednesdays at 11:00 AM

Join us on Thurs Sept 7th at 5:30 for our next teen craft!  Halloween is only a few months away…why not get started on your costume early and make a masquerade mask?
No registration is required for our teen crafts.  This event is intended for ages 12+.

Knitting/Crochet Club
Like to knit or crochet? Want to learn? Come join the Knitting/Crochet club to get advice and share ideas with others who love knitting/crochet as much as you do. Open to all ages and skill levels. Supplies are available for anyone who doesn’t have their own.  The Knitting Club will meet this month on Saturday, September 16 at 10am and Saturday, September 30 at 10am

Book Club Meeting               Saturday Sept 9 at 12:30PM
It’s official—the Gibsonville Library Book Club is a go! We met in August to decide on our first book, and to discuss how to organize ourselves. We will be meeting the first Saturday of each month from 12:30-2:30. Since the first Saturday in September is Labor Day weekend, we will be meeting instead on Saturday, September 9th to discuss our first book, The Midnight Library by Matthew Haig.
Start thinking about recommendations for books you’d like to read in the upcoming months!

Advance Care Planning Workshop               Saturday Sept 23 1:00PM
Did you know there are simple legal documents you can complete to provide information to loved ones and physicians about what type of care you want in the event you are not able to communicate your wishes?  On Sat Sept 23 at 1pm, come learn about the basic types of advance directives. A representative of Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro will give a presentation, answer any questions, and provide documents for your completion. You can fill in these documents, get them notarized, and make copies before you leave.

Friends of the Library Chalk Walk Event
Saturday Sept 30 3-6PM at Murrell Park
The Friends of the Gibsonville Public Library and Frozen Pines Tattoo will host a Chalk Walk event on Sat Sept 30 from 3-6pm at Murrell Park.  For $10 you can reserve a space on the walking path to create your masterpiece!  Chalk will be provided, but you can also bring your own if you’d like.  Participants can work in groups of 4 or less.  All ages are welcome.  There will be age group judging, and prizes for the best works. You can stop by the library to pick up a form and pay for your registration.
